We're A Happy Little Family Looking For Another Kiddo To Love!

Three years ago our lives were changed by leaps and bounds with the addition of a tiny six-pound baby girl into our family. Through the love and miracle of adoption we became more complete people. It is in that same spirit of love that we are reaching out for another sweet baby to join our little family.

These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things...

~Jon~
-I am an avid football and baseball fan; an obsessive follower of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Seattle Seahawks & Mariners teams.
-I've always enjoyed the zoo, but going with Naomi on my shoulders making elephant noises takes it to a whole new level!
-I like the challenge of learning new things & take every chance I can get to brush up on my Cantonese (learned while serving a mission in Hong Kong) & Mandarin language skills; it gives me a great excuse to visit Chinatown for a good dinner.
-The past year, with the presidential election, I've enjoyed many good discussions of politics.
-I am always up for getting lost in a well-written book or a good movie.
-I enjoy taking time out to listen to music and appreciate art, architecture, and photography.
-I like to get outside in the fresh air and love traveling off the beaten path in search of a new adventure.
-I cherish good times with family and friends, especially when BBQ and chicken wings are involved.
-I have been known to double my competitors’ scores when it comes to Scattergories. It's one of my favorite games.
-I'm still learning, but I thoroughly enjoy time spent on the golf course.

~Lindsay~
-I enjoy cooking & baking, especially for other people. I strongly believe food is always yummier when shared.
-I could win a gold medal in shopping - for anything & everything! No Olympics are in my future, as I am a professional, but I am currently training Naomi. Watch for her in 2012!
-I love to travel, both near & far, by car, plane, boat, you name it. Naomi has been my travel buddy of late, but even our little dog Pippin has flown across the country a few times.
-Things can get pretty lively at our house when games are involved. My recent favorites are The Settlers of Catan, Canasta, & Werewolves.
-Tennis is my favorite sport to play & College Football is my favorite sport to watch.
-I love to go out to the movies, especially if popcorn is involved!
-Listening to music and going to concerts is a guaranteed good time.
-During yearly family vacations to Lake Powell I practically live in the water!
-I discovered a passion for reading on my lunch hour while I was working downtown. Now I try to fit in a good read during nap time.
-I can happily get lost in a museum for hours on end.
-Talking and enjoying the company of my family and friends is priceless. I love to text message & facebook to stay in touch.

~Naomi~
-I am quite a traveler & especially love road trips. I've been to 26 states and I'm not even 3!
-I love to get wet; on the beach, at the spray park, even in the bath tub, any water will do!
-Mimicking the animals at the zoo is a day well spent. My elephant impersonation is dead-on.
-I love doggies! My first word (other than "mama" & "dada") was "doggy."
-Dancing is one of my favorite things to do. I just can't keep still when I hear a beat.
-I could swing & swing all day at the park. I love to get butterflies in my tummy!

~Pippin~
-I have a one-track mind & it’s usually set on play!
-I’m a bit of a snuggle bunny.
-I love playing “fetch” & “find it” at the park across the street.
-Naomi is my partner in crime. She loves to feed me little snacks & I love to eat them!

Lindsay About Jon:

Jon is the most well-rounded person I know. He paints, although he is very modest about it, & appreciates art. He loves listening to music & discovering new bands. He’s academic, athletic & sweet. Jon is a deep thinker. He is intellectual and likes to have conversations about politics, philosophy & current events. He loves sports - especially football. At first he seems quiet & reserved, but anyone who knows Jon knows that he is very animated. He loves to laugh & is very sweet with kids and animals. Nothing is more fun than watching him play with Naomi & Pippin. He is such a proud dad! Naomi adores her daddy & I melt whenever I see them together. Their connection is so special. Jon is also very humble & has an honest, sincere desire to do good. He works extremely hard & always strives to be his best. He is a very supportive husband, a very loving dad & a wonderful example to me.

Jon About Lindsay:

It is difficult to describe Lindsay without writing a lengthy checklist of strengths. She is very loving, caring, nurturing, and can openly communicate with others through her animated expression, kind words & thoughtful actions. She warms up a room when she enters. She is also very ambitious, headstrong & intelligent; she can draw from her formal study of anthropology to tell you everything you’d ever want to know about ancient civilizations & even the science of pop culture. She has a keen eye for style. She finds the value in the undervalued & appreciates the underappreciated. She is very open-minded & is slow to cast judgment on people. She watches out for the underdog, but can keep up with anyone. Lindsay thinks deeply about all of her decisions & surprises others with the care & effort of her actions, whether it is choosing the best picture to hang on the wall or making the softest bed for our spoiled dog. She is loving & loyal, sensitive & kind, meticulously organized & hard-working. She loves to have a great time, whether it is splashing in the water of Lake Powell or staying up late for a competitive game of The Great Dalmudi. In all she does, she makes others around her feel at home & secure. She loves children & animals, and they are drawn to the kindness that radiates from her. Lindsay also enjoys trying new things, making the most out of life’s experiences for herself & those around her. She has many enviable talents & abilities, but she frankly is an amazing mother. I watch her interact with our daughter in awe. Naomi is an incredibly happy & sweet little girl. I attribute this to Lindsay's efforts.

About our Extended Families:

Lindsay:

I grew up in a Seattle in a family of 3 girls and 1 boy. My brother is the oldest, but the sisters definitely ruled the roost! There is always fun to be had when we're together. My parents are great examples of love and sacrifice. They taught, encouraged, supported and loved me. One of the best gifts they have given me is a tremendous amount of happy memories. My family has now expanded to include 3 in-laws, 5 nephews, 2 nieces and 3 little dogs. We keep in touch over the phone during the weeks, but always manage to get together for some real fun any time we can come up with a good excuse.

Jon:

I have two older brothers, four adoring older sisters, and fifteen nephews and nieces. My parents worked tirelessly to raise us well, teaching us the virtues of hard work, honesty, humility and personal character. They encouraged all seven of us to do our best in our respective activities, but allowed all of us room to develop our own unique talents and personalities. We do our best to visit one another, as we cherish our time together. I come from a great family.
